Born in Spain, the founder Don Andres Brugal was ambitious and adventurous, drawn to the possibilities of the Dominican Republic to realise his full potential. There he found all the right elements to make superior rum, and saw the potential to connect the different parts of the rum-making process in his own unique way to unlock a new deeper, smoother rum with the power to bring people together. In 1888 Brugal was born and from that day forward, they have continued to bring out the best of our cask aged Dominican rum.

Brugal Añejo is matured in carefully selected American oak casks that are medium toasted to provide a smooth taste, with beautifully light aromas of wood. The Añejo rum is dry in an overall sense and buttery in the mouth with a slight hint of caramel and tannin.

Brugal Extra Viejo is skillfully blended by the Brugal Maestros using carefully selected, older reserves from white American oak casks that previously held bourbon. The rich amber liquid has a rounded woody spiciness, notes of orange peel and hints of vanilla, creating a fuller flavour profile and long balanced finish. Brugal 1888 Doblemente Añejado is a truly exceptional rum, crafted in the Dominican Republic, and combines the rich flavours of bourbon and sherry casks through a double-ageing process.
