Hailing from three former Spanish Colonies, this flight
features rums that tend to be a bit crisper, more on the
sweeter side and very smooth.
Produced at Diamond Distillery in Guayana on the banks of the
Demarara, El Dorado 21 is molasses-based and distilled on the Enmore and Diamond Coffey Stills, Port Mourant Double Wooden Pot Still and Versailles Single Wooden Pot Still. It is then aged for a minimum of 21 years in oak barrels. It is bottled at 43% ABV or 86 proof.
Produced in Costa Rica, Ron Centenario's Gran Reserva contains rum that is aged from 6 to 25 years in ex bourbon casks in a solera system. It is bottled at 40% ABV or 80 proof.
Zacapa XO is produced from hand selected rums aged between 10 and 25 years in the “Sistema Solera.” Older and younger rums are then blended as they age in a sequence of barrels that previously stored robust American whiskeys, delicate Sherries, fine Pedro Ximénez wines and finished in French oak casks which previously aged Cognac. It is bottled at 40% ABV or 80 proof.
