Celebrating
the Old Dominion’s
rich history of rum and
spirit production,this
flight spotlights three
local producers.
Produced in Richmond, the Virago Sherry Cask features a blend of rums from Barbados, Jamaica, Nicaragua, and Panama. Rested for 15 months in freshly-emptied, 30-year-old Grande Champagne cognac casks, this spirit - the third release in our series of cask-finished rums - is an elegant sipper the color of old gold. Lush aromas of apricot preserve, warm toffee, and honeysuckle harmoniously blend wit h flavors of aged cognac, dark cocoa, and lightly toasted oak to create an extraordinary spirit with a creamy mouthfeel and a long, clean finish. It is bottled at 40% ABV or 80 proof.
George Bowman was an 18th-century American pioneer, and well-known frontiersmen who was one of the first to explore and settle Shenandoah Valley. Our special pot-still rum is distilled, aged, and blended much like it was centuries ago. Imported from a small rum maker down south amidst the palm trees and sugar cane, this rum spends years aging in the Caribbean heat to garner its dark color and full flavor. The subtle aroma of coconut and vanilla are followed by the rich flavors of molasses, honey, and brown sugar.
Eve’s Rebellion Apple Spiced is a seasonal release from Three Crosses Distiling located in Powhatan. It comes from fermented American bagasse sugar and molasses. After distillation on premises, the rum is then immersed in a blend of sliced apples., vanilla and other spices It is then bottled at 40% ABV or 80 proof.
